Tasty Trail Bites // 7 ingredients

Don’t get me wrong, I love a store bought protein bar on the go. But why eat processed store bought bars when you can make your own at home, for less, that are even tastier?

These 7 ingredient trail bites are so satisfying and easy to make. They are perfect to pack for a long hike, bike ride or to eat as a quick snack if you are on the go.

What you need:

  • 2 cups of cooked quinoa (add 1 cup non-cooked in with 2 cups of water for 2 cups cooked quinoa – it expands)
  • 1/2 container of your preferred peanut butter
  • 3 tablespoons of pure maple syrup – preferably from Vermont
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 3/4 cups of rolled oats
  • 1/2 coconut shredded
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips

What to do:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Combine the cooked quinoa, PB, maple syrup, oats and sea salt with a mixer. Stir in the chocolate chips and coconut. Make into balls and put on greased cookie sheet. Bake for about 15 minutes. Take out, cool before storing and enjoy on the trails! Yum!
