7 GIRLS | 1 YURT | 2 TRAIL RUNS | 1 OUTHOUSE | 3 BUNKS | 10 BOTTLES OF WINE | + MORE!
I had never been to the La Sal Mountains in Moab before this ladies yurt trip. My friend Rhielle organized the trip and booked the Geyser Pass Yurt for a quick getaway to Moab that would include skiing and trail running. Utah never disappoints, no matter what season it is or what activity you would like to do.
The Geyser Pass yurt was about 3.5 miles from the trail-head where we left our cars. We toured up to the yurt but thankfully the Talking Mountain Yurt’s guide took in a load for us that had our meals for 2 days and a large batch of firewood to help us keep warm. We all pitched in to make dinner and we, obviously, brought up plenty of snacks and wine. We brought card games and had a great time sitting around the fire telling stories. The end of the night ended with a full on dance party.
We ended up skiing in and out of the yurt twice, which was pretty exhausting after a long trail run in Moab. The snow in the La Sals wasn’t the greatest while we were there so we didn’t explore much backcountry.
If you plan a winter trip make sure you check out the packing list from TMY.
I am really looking forward to going back to Geyser Pass in the Summer to stay in the yurt and ride the Whole Enchilada trail.
